As some of you may know I recently taught a couple workshops focused on raising a vessel. I haven’t taught this class in years because it’s a challenge finding a place with enough raising stakes for a full group of 12 students to be working at once. Earlier this year I redesigned my set of stakes to make them easier to make, not to mention hold more easily and securely in a vise. Then I proceeded to make a whole bunch of sets for the workshop. That initial class filled up fast and we decided to open up a second section. So I made a whole bunch more stake sets for this second class, plus a few extra to sell. Well the classes went great, but not all the spots in the second section filled and not all of the students wanted to purchase the set at that time. So that means I have extra stakes I can make available for anyone else. If they had been used in the class then I will have done any refinishing of the surfaces needed.
However, before I made these available to the general public I felt like I needed a detailed post about the stake set explaining the mounting system, and generally how I use each stake. I’m hoping this new post will be of use for anyone interested in making their own stakes too.
So if you’d like to see the new post about the stakes you can click here.
If you happen to be interested in purchasing one of the limited number of sets available you can click here to go straight to the ecommerce page. One thing I like about these new stakes is that I can fit the full set into a medium USPS flat rate box for cheaper shipping, within the US at least.
I don’t really plan to turn into a tool manufacturer. I much prefer spending my days making art. So I don’t know if these will always be in stock in the future. Right now though I have a fair number of them.
As always, thank you so much for your interest in what I do!
