Big group of new vessels

Greetings to all you wonderful folks subscribing to my website.

It feels odd sending out a new message so soon after my last one, but that one was about the new workshops and this one is to let you all know I’ve just finished up a large batch of new vessels. I haven’t done a group this large in quite a while, however, I had three different galleries desperately needing new work, not to mention the fact that my own ecommerce store was down to about nothing. So I’ve been hammering like fury to try and catch up!

33 new pieces just got posted if you are interested in seeing them. The majority are my Luminosity series, the simpler form vessels focusing on patinas with the gold leaf interiors. There are several nice Luminous Relic pieces as well. For me in particular I’m excited about a new patina chemical I played around with for the first time on several pieces in this group. It’s zinc nitrate. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from it, and I certainly have much more experimenting to do with it in hopes of learning more of its secrets, but so far I’m pretty excited about the results. I’ve been striving for years to get a white patina and with the assistance of the zinc nitrate in combination with other things I was able to get a couple vessels to develop a nearly white finish!

Anyway, if you are interested in seeing the new work it can be found in either the Vessels Available section of my website or in this ecommerce section of the site. If you are interested in purchasing one directly from my site you will want to check them out in the ecommerce section in the next couple days. After that I’m going to dividing this batch up among several galleries and getting them shipped off. Though I do still intend to keep a fair number here with me at home to remain available on the site. They just won’t all be available there anymore. As I send them off to galleries I will update them in the Vessels Available section to link to the various galleries that will get them.

I suppose I should also note that the October vessel chasing workshop happening at Studio JSD in Grand Haven, MI I mentioned in my last message is now up and open for registration. You can find more info and links to sign up for that and/or the other workshops in Mesa, AZ in this section.

I think that’s it for now. Thank you so much for your interest in what I do!

best regards,
David Huang
