New Workshops Posted!

Greetings to all you subscribing to my website!

I’m happy to announce two workshops that are now open for registration and there is one coming up which I hope will be opened up soon.

This fall I’ll be teaching a couple workshops out at Urban Metal Studio in Mesa, AZ (near Phoenix).  The first is a 3-day intermediate/advanced vessel chasing class.  This one is limited to students who have taken a vessel chasing class from me before.  The idea is that we’ll have shorter refresher demos but most of the time will be spent chasing with me doing more one on one time with everyone’s individual projects.  This is happening October, 11-13.

Then right after that, October, 14-16, I will again be doing my 3-day patinas on copper workshop.  Urban Metal is a great facility for the patina class as they have 6 well vented torch stations so there is less down time as everyone works their way through doing the various test tiles of the patinas.  Less down time means we get to do more patinas!  This is always a fun class.

Info on these two workshops is now posted on my website here: https://davidhuang.org/general-information/workshops/

More info, including pricing, as well as sign ups can be found at Urban Metal Studio’s site here:  https://www.urbanmetalstudio.com/classes-workshops/workshops

Finally, I wish this last one was ready for registration so I could cover everything at once, but it is not quite ready.  However, I wanted to give you all a heads up since the dates are set.  I’ll be doing a 5-day vessel raising and chasing workshop out in the Denver, CO area July 9-13.  As I understand it, at this point I’m just waiting for things to get posted on the host organization’s website then it will be opened for registration.  It’s a non-profit group run by volunteers so I would imagine things happen as those involved have time to get to them.  My hope is that I’ll be sending out another email really soon letting you know it’s ready for sign ups!  If you are interested in this you might want to hold those dates open in your schedule.

Those are the workshops that I’ll be doing for 2023.  I’m not planning to do any others this year.  I expect I’ll do something next year, but I’m not thinking that far ahead just yet.

Thank you very much for your interest in what I do.

best regards,
David

  1. Greetings David – My name is Mark Scott. I’ve purchased a few of your vessels and one of your necklaces from Linda and Scott and I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you and watching a demonstration of your work. Out of curiosity, is the Denver workshop for beginners or more advanced participants? Best regards – Mark

    1. Hello Mark,

Thanks so much for collecting my work and inquiring about the workshop! To answer your question, the Denver workshop will be open to any skill level from beginners to advanced. Hopefully I can get that one officially posted soon!

If you happen to be at the gallery reception this Sat. be sure to say hello so hopefully I can connect up your name to your face. 🙂

      best regards,
      David
