ArtPrize 2010 Entry, or Making the Really Large Vessel

For the ArtPrize competition in 2010 I've decided to attempt to make a raised and chased vessel larger than I've ever done before. I don't know for certain that I can do the 48 inch disk I'm going to take one, but I think I can. I also don't know how much time this will take to complete. I am allocating several months from my work schedule for it. In spending this much time on one piece I do also see it as valuable to the direction of my career beyond just an entry for ArtPrize. I'm not into gambling so I don't count on winning an award, but I'm going to give it my best effort.

Over the course of the next several months I will keep updating this album with progress on the piece and commentary on the challenges encountered. Be sure to keep stopping back to see it develop.
