Colorado

Here are some images from a trip to Colorado for the annual CoMA conference. (CoMA stands for Colorado Metalsmiths Association.) Last year they invited me to come speak at the conference. This year (2009) I was giving a 5-day post conference workshop. Since the conference was so great the year before I decided to leave for the workshop early to attend the conference again, and yes, it was another great conference. This year I went up a day earlier than the conference so a small group of us could spend some time up in the mountain around Salida, CO where the conference is held. In theory we were looking for rock/gemstones. While I got a fair number of interesting (to me) rocks including some jasper and fossilized wood the expedition really ended up being about sightseeing in the mountains. There were lots of wild flowers out and wonderful rock formations. It's a beautiful place.
