Step 8
In this image you can see that I've crudely drawn in facial features with a marker. I've reached the point where I need to begin refining this blob of raised metal into the head. The drawn lines help me. I use the marker a lot during this raising process. By comparing the copper form to the clay model I can see where I am and then mark out where I need to be, what areas need to be pushed in and how far. Since the marker burns off in the annealing process it works good for plotting out each course of hammering.
