Step 5: forming the head
Most of these images will not have much, if anything, for a description. Basically I'm just hammering and hammering to slowly develop the form. There's not much to talk about. The story of this work's creation will be mostly told through the pictures. Essentially how this works is I roughly form a section, here I'm developing nub for the head, then I refine it some. From there I roughly form the next section and so on. Each image is another course of hammering. In between the courses I anneal the metal to get it back to the softened state since the hammering makes it hard and brittle.
