Step 2: the copper sheet

Once I have the sculpted model to work from I need to decide the size of disk to cut from the sheet metal. I'll mark the sheet with a center punch and scribe a circle which will then be cut out. After this I file the sharp edges off and anneal the disk to prepare it for hammering the first course.
