David Huang's Studio

One of my goals with creating this website is to help spread information about the field of metalsmithing. In this album I have made various sections that I hope will be educational about the tools and techniques I use. I aim for it to be of interest to the casual visitor and collectors. However, I'm also trying to make it useful to other metalsmiths. So the information may vary in depth and complexity.

If you are new to the field of metalwork, please don't expect any of this to be a complete tutorial. I'm not necessarily covering all safety issues and such. I'd recommend finding more formal training through workshops (I do some occasionally), schools, or university programs.

I hope this information gives you a better understanding of how I make a piece, and a greater appreciation of how wonderful a material metal is.
